Dojo Passai

The main reason that I am staying in Columbia a couple of extra days as I was asked to. Juan Hector Garcia Francisco, who goes by Hector Garcia, runs a shorin ryu dojo. He has attended NTS in Michigan for the last two years and we became friends.

Hector picked me up at the hotel at noon We had a nice lunch in a little cafe that was very enjoyable. We then went to the dojo.
Hector taking care of business at a small desk near the front door. Class began at 4 and went until 8. One of the senior brown belts was working with some of the students afterwards on fitness exercises. It was very interesting and He was doing a good job.

Hector and some of his students. Over the course of the four hours about 20 students of all ages came into the school and worked out for anything from an hour to almost all 4 hours.

We did kata and they asked questions about certain moves. Hector was most interesting in doing things the way Sensei Iha does it. For the most part the differences were very minor. We did a bit of Nigashi Uke. Hector then had a questions and answer period where the kids could ask me about myself and why I studied. There were some great questions and it was fun.

I slept better last night then I have all trip!
